  1. I think that Tom Sawyer is mostly mischievous because he got kids to whitewash the fence for him and he ran away from home and faked his death. He is full of mischief. He was able to trick boys into whitewashing the fence and he got payed for them doing it. He said that his friends weren’t able to do it perfectly how Aunt Polly wants it and that just makes the boys even more tempted because they were like, we can totally do it perfect and we will even pay you to let us whitewash your fence because we will do it perfect. He was also very mischievous because he ran away from home. Aunt Polly was mad at Tom and he felt like nobody wanted him and he decided to figure out if people actually cared about him. He found out that people cared about him and he came back home. But just because he came back home doesn’t mean that he is not going to do more mischievous things.

  2. I think Tom is mischievous. I think Tom is mischievous because he fakes his own death. He doesn't mean to break everyone’s hearts he just wanted to have a little fun. He is also mischievous when he gives the cat the pain killer. This is mischievous because he knows he probably isn't supposed to give the cat (Peter) the painkiller, yet Tom doesn't mean any harm to the cat or anyone.

  3. I think that Tom is primarily mischievous because he doesn’t always listen and he plays pranks and does tricks to everyone. One of the times he is mischievous is when he hides the pain killer then gives it to the cat. He asks for the pain killer so much from Aunt Polly that she gives it to him and he just starts to hide it. Then he gives some to the cat even though he knows how much it hurts to eat it. This is very mischievous because he knows he is supposed to take it and he hides it, then he gives it to the cat even though he knows it will hurt.

  4. Tom Sawyer is kind hearted behind all the mischievous things he does. When he meets Becky he is kind hearted when Becky gets nervous, he tries to comfort her. When they get “engaged” Tom gives Becky her a brass knob but Becky turned it down. He was so kind he comforted her but had to go because Becky was upset. Tom cares about Becky

  5. I personally think that Tom Sawyer is mostly mischievous. Tom Sawyer can be mischievous in a lot of different scenarios. One scenario was when he tricked a lot of people into whitewashing a fence, and getting them to do layers and layers so then he could get credit for it and he got a lot of cool stuff. That is very mischievous in my mind.
Another reason why I think that Tom Sawyer is mostly mischievous is because he tricked people into thinking he was dead so he could see everybody's reaction.
In conclusion, I think that Tom Sawyer is mostly mischievous.

  6. I think that Tom is mischievous because he is always tricking other people to do his work for him plus he is always breaking the rules. at the beginning of the book he tricked multiple other boys into whitewashing the fence, and also he ends up worrying his aunt by faking his own death. Tom is always getting into trouble, at the very beginning of the book he was not supposed to go swimming, she even sewed on his shirt, yet Tom took it off and just sewed it up again, always doing things under his aunts very nose, therefor I think that Tom is mischievous.

  7. I would say that Tom is mostly mischievous because he tricks the kids into whitewashing the fence and he fakes his death. On page 106 in my book it says “ ‘Wait! Wait I want to tell you something!’ They presently stopped and turned round. When he got to where they were, he began unfolding his secret, and they listened moodley till at last they saw the ‘point’ he was driving at, and then they set up a war-whoop of applause and said it was ‘splendid!’ and said if he had told them that at first, they wouldn’t have started away.” I think this shows Tom being mischievous because he is telling the boys his plan for facking their death.

  8. I think Tom is mischievous because he faked his death but wasn’t really dead. I think that was mischievous because he was almost basically getting people to feel guilty and just think of all the great things about him. That was quite mischievous because then when he came back then everyone would love him and give him everything he wants. That is one reason why I think Tom is mischievous.

  9. I think Tom sawyer is a very mischievous character. I think he is mischievous because he goes out and makes everyone think he is dead.He makes Aunt Polly almost grieve to death. The entire town thinks that he is dead, so he has a funeral and attends it. That is a very mischievous thing to do. Know one does that unless they are mischievous by far.

  11. I used to think that Tom Sawyer is mischievous but now I think that Tom Sawyer is kind hearted. I think this now because when Tom is in the cave with Becky he helps her get out of the cave. Also in the cave he split a part of a piece of cake in half, when Becky got hungry again he split his half again. If you are not kindhearted you do not share. I am not the only one that thinks Tom Sawyer is kindhearted, Becky and her dad think so to.

  12. I used to think that Tom was mostly mischievous, but now I think that he is more kind-hearted. I think that he is mostly kind-hearted more because he was in love with Becky and had a kind heart when he was with her. He told her that he loved her and he kissed her. Another reason that he is kind-hearted is that when he was trapped in the cave with Becky, she started crying and he comforted her because he had a kind heart.

  14. Tom Sawyer is kind hearted. One example is when Becky and Tom got stuck in the cave Tom comforted Becky when she was crying. When Becky and Tom got “engaged” Becky started to cry. Tom didn’t know what to do so he walked away and actually got mad. When they were in the cave Becky was crying because they were lost. Tom comforted her and said encouraging things like we will find the way out.

  15. I used to think that Tom Sawyer was mostly mischievous, but now I think that Tom is mostly kind hearted for many reasons. One reason why I think that Tom Sawyer is mostly kind hearted is because how he tried so hard to make Becky Thatcher feel secure and protected and not alone. Tom Sawyer was willing to do anything to make Becky stop crying and to feel like she was going home even when he wanted to stay and spend time with her. He searched and searched for hours and hours just so Becky would be happy. I personally think that that is really sweet of Tom. For once he thought about how someone else would feel instead of him. In conclusion, I think that Tom Sawyer is mostly kind hearted.

  16. So far in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer a part in toms personality is being mischievous. First of all, When Tom is on the island with Joe and Huck, he smokes with a pipe but I think that he is too young to smoke so he was mischievous to smoke

Another reason is that Tom fakes his death by pretending to drown. He did this to see if people from the village were sad that the boys were gone. It turned out that they were sad but then the boys attended their own funeral. I think that was very mischievous of them.

Tom is also Kind Hearted in a way because he respects Huck and Becky. He respects them because Huck is just like him and he is Tom’s best friend. He also cares about Becky because he gave Becky cake in the cave when she was hungry.

  17. I used to think that Tom was mostly mischievous, but now i think he is mostly kind hearted. I think Tom is kind hearted because after Becky and Tom get lost in the cave and Becky starts crying, Tom comforts her the best he can. I think this shows Tom going from mischievous to kind hearted because in the beginning of the book when becky starts crying Tom just runs away.
I also think Tome is kind hearted because after Judge Thatcher locks up the cave with a metal door and three locks Tom says to him “But Judge, Injun Joe is in that cave.” I think this shows Tom being kind hearted because Injun Joe wasn’t a normal person, he was a murderer, and even worse, he blamed some of his murders on innocent people. So Tom trying to save Injun Joe’s life was very kind hearted of him.

  18. I used to think that Tom was mischievous, and I still do. Tom is still mischievous but now I think he is also kind-hearted. He is kind-hearted because when him and Becky get stuck in the cave he tries to comfort her, and make sure she’s safe. Also, when Huck runs away because he doesn’t like his new life with the widow Tom tries to help. He tells Huck that he can’t be in his gang unless he tries to live there again. But you can tell that in his heart, Tom just is trying to help.
