The person I think I am most like J.J. Judge. I think that because, J.J. Judge explores all of her sources. I like to do that too, and go above and beyond. J.J. Judge is smart and things through before she decides to do something, I like that about her.
If you were a character in The Westing Game, you would definitely be J.J. Judge. You also have a lot of information backing up your statement. I totally agree.
I agree with you and Ms. McKone, but I disagree, because you like to smile. A lot. Judge Ford gave up smiling when she decided to become a judge. You would never give up smiling.
I think that the character in The Westing Game I am most like is Flora Baumbach. I think this because I try to be kind to everyone, I try to stay positive, and I like art and crafts. Mrs. Baumbach tries to be kind to everyone, even if they aren’t kind to her. I might not do it as much as she does, but I still try. Also, I want to be as positive as I can, but I’m not very good at it. Still, I try to be an optimist when I can. Last, I love using my creativity to my advantage. Flora Baumbach uses her creativity to design dresses. I try and use it with anything I can get my hands on. That’s I think I’m the most like Flora Baumbach.
From your point of view I think you are a lot like Flora. When I read the begining of your post, when you wrote the words " Flora Baumbach" at first I thought you were nothing like her, but you changed my point of view of how I look at Flora before and how Iook at Flora now.
I feel like I would be most like Theo Theodorakis because I have a younger sibling that has a disability, but we are not alike because I don’t like girls that put a lot of makeup to make them pretty, I may also might be like Theo because I’m an amazing brother to my younger sibling.
The character that I am like is Turtle because I am very offensive because when someone touches her braid, or someone touches me and I don’t know who, it is bad news even if it’s my best friend. I’m also like Angela (hint: not that I’m good looking) because I’m the main female child in my family who gets the most attention and I’m always offering to help no matter what the consequences.Lastly, I think I’m like Chris as well, because I’m more of a thinking person not a talk-about-your-thoughts person, I don’t say my clever thoughts out loud because they come out wrong or no one knows what I’m talking about because they don’t know where my first thought took me, like Chris.
Interesting thoughts, Holly! I like all of your points; I was most interested in your comparison to Chris. I think that being a "thinking person" has enormous benefits.
I think im mostly like chris because were both smart. Also he can be acting out his disability which makes him kind of deceptive. Plus he knew a clue once but didn’t share it out loud so he is kind of secretive and wants to work alone.
Me, I think I relate most to Angela. You could think, oh yea, you’re like her, sure. Or, you could think, no! You are nothing like her! But hey, you don't know what i’m thinking, do you. For my first reason that I think i’m like her, everyone thinks i’m the “good child”, I never fight, i’m always nice, but on the inside, i’m a different person. Second, i’m not like her because I don’t always agree with people, and I sometimes lose my temper. Third, i’m not like her because I have a lot of friends, and i’m usually excepted everywhere I go. And there you have it, that's why I think i’m like Angela. You still might disagree with me, but hey, you still can’t see what i’m thinking, can you?
Great response Avery. You have some really interesting points. I was especially struck by how you mentioned that Angela is a different person on the outside and she feels differently on the inside.
The character that I think that am most like, is Sandy/ Alexander McSouthers, because I am funny, kind, and I like to thank people. I am funny. I like to make people laugh and make people happy. I like to be funny. I am also kind. I like to include people in games and other things. I also like to thank people. I like to tell people that I appreciate what they are doing for me.
Sandy is funny, because in the book it says: “‘Ashes!’ the doorman shouted” “‘It was just a joke,’ Sandy tried to explain. (Both on page 30) Sandy is kind, because in the book it says: “‘ The Mercedes is wiped clean and shiny like new,’ the doorman boasted.” (page 80) Sandy likes to thank people and tell them that he appreciates what they do for him, because in the book it says: “‘No tips, Judge, please, not after all you've done for the wife and me.’ The judge had given him the entire ten thousand dollars.” (page 80)
I think the characters that I identify most with are the Wexler girls. I’m not exactly like either of them, but there are some similarities. I identify with Turtle/Tabitha/Alice because I like to be a bit of a daredevil. She seems like a bit of a daredevil because she went in the westing house to prove you could stay in there for a whole night. She is also very determined, like me. A difference is if someone touches my hair, I don’t kick them as hard as I can, even though I do like to wear my hair in a braid or two. I identify with Angela because I like to make everyone feel happy. I also am sympathetic and empathetic to people. I am not very quiet, though, and I’m also not about to get married! There you go, the similarities and differences between the Wexler girls and I. Goodbye!
How interesting that in the book, our first reaction is that Turtle and Angela are very different. Even their own mother thinks they are as different as dark and light. However, YOU found qualities in each of them that are also in you. Very cool thinking, Arabella.

ReplyDeleteInteresting points, Lauren! I can see the commonalities between you and Judge Ford.
DeleteYou have very good, descriptive reasons, Lauren! Good job.

ReplyDeleteLevi
I agree with you about girls and makeup.
Deleteyou have a younger sibling with a disability I didn't know that.
DeleteI am like Shin Hoo because I love candy. I am a boy. I am not like him because I am not Chinese. I do not own a restaurant. I am not plump.
ReplyDeleteI like your word choice of plump.
DeleteGood job! Funny, but everything you said is true!
Delete(hint: it's either him or otis!)

DeleteThat's great, but... your three people??!?!??!??!
DeleteI totally agree with you. I also like how you showed how you are like 3 people not just one like everyone else.
DeleteI think im mostly like chris because were both smart. Also he can be acting out his disability which makes him kind of deceptive. Plus he knew a clue once but didn’t share it out loud so he is kind of secretive and wants to work alone.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I do not like sharing aloud and prefer working alone or with a partner
DeleteI think I would be most like Chris because I am smart and funny. But I am not alike because I am a lot younger than him.
ReplyDeleteGreat job
DeleteWhy do you think you are like him? I need more data man, come on.

DeleteI like how you made your response into almost an opinion piece. You listed all of your ideas, and you had a conclusion and beginning.
DeleteI also think you are like Angela. I also think you are the "good kid". I agree with everything you said in that response.
